Sidewinder truck moves in all directions

Forward and reverse travel is only half the story for the Sidewinder omnidirectional lift truck from Airtrax. This truck also travels sideways and rotates in a 360 degree arc just as easily as conventional travel directions. This capability gives the truck excellent maneuverability in tight spaces, says the supplier.

The key is four independently driven wheels, each with elliptically shaped rollers around its circumference. The rollers rotate freely, allowing omnidirectional movement based on the speed and direction of each wheel.

Control of the truck is with dual joystick controls. One joystick controls movement in all directions. The other controls all hydraulic movements including lift, lower, tilt and auxiliary functions. To see a video, visit www.airtrax.com.
